Mark 12:34
And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”

Jesus made this statement to a religious leader who had just agreed with Jesus when He had told a group of them the two greatest commandments: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30-31). If we worked on both of these commandments the process would be a moment by moment continuous endeavor. In each moment we would be allowing our egos to be put aside (dying to ourselves) so that God could lead us and Christ could fill us. When we are in this flow we truly are “not far from the kingdom of God.”
