Becoming Whole

Psalm 119:166
I look for your salvation, Lord, and I fulfill your commands.

When I think of the word “salvation” I know it’s something that God grants…not something we accomplish. But God calls us to cooperate! Salvation is “wholeness.” God wants nothing more than for each of us to become “whole“…a completed work of art…the unique “me” that God had in mind. As St. Paul says, “I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). So may you look for your salvation. May you yearn for your wholeness and completion as the unique creation God intended. May you surrender your egocentric desires so that Christ can live more fully in you. For when you die to your “false self“…the paradox is that you discover your “true self“…as Christ grows in you.
