Open Hands

Luke 11:9, 11, 13
“Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

If we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit and surrender our desires to the One who made us…then when we ask Him for something…we will also always say, “Your will be done.” Then when we “ask”…the “receiving” is already in progress. Jesus says that we can be sure that God will always answer. What we receive, however, may not be what we want…but it will always be what we need.
