Called to Serve

Matthew 23:11-12
“The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

What Jesus is telling us is exactly the opposite of what our culture tells us. It tells us to be first…to beat all the competition…to win the applause of all…to be the “American Idol”! Jesus tells us to “die to ourselves”…let go of our egos. It’s up to God to do any “exalting.” We have a choice. God gave us free will for a reason. Which philosophy will you follow?

  1. Good stuff Bill. Great, simple format and even better message. Being a Christ follower sure is opposite to our culture. Letting God direct our steps is the key.
