Importance of Prayer

Matthew 7:17
“Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.”

A good tree that bears good fruit will have strong roots in fertile soil. A strong family life provides good soil for us to grow in. However, our parents are not perfect. Each mom and dad has been affected by the positive and negative influences of their parents and the environment in which they were raised. We do, however, have a perfect parent…in God. The closer we get to God through prayer…the deeper our roots grow in fertile soil and the more good fruit we will bear. Is your life bearing the fruits of love, mercy, forgiveness and compassion to the world? What kind of prayer life do you have?

1 Response to Importance of Prayer

  1. Bill enjoyed and was delighted by your recent concert! Congrats on the new release. Your reflection today struck home with me. So many of us wonder, as parents, if we have done all we can. We know we’ve both helped and failed (unintentionally) our children at times. We also know we cannot do or be all things to our children, esp. on our own. Your reflection reminds us that as our faith makes us a people of hope, so too as parents, we can hope and entrust our children to God OUR Father. As parents we can ask for the Father’s help to be better parents, grand parents, spouses, and friends; and we can pray our Father will guide, support and wrap our children in HIS hope and love.
