Psalm 33:20-21
Our soul waits for the Lord, who is our help and shield. For in God our hearts rejoice; in your holy name we trust.
Do we spend most of our time “wanting”…or “waiting”? In a consumeristic culture that tells us we need more and more stuff…wanting has become a way of life. Advent is a time of waiting. In Christian theology it is waiting for the coming of God in human flesh. How is God trying to become flesh in you? Trust that your Loving Creator wants to come to life in you. But you must be open to receiving this new life. Let go of your ego’s insatiable cravings that will only provide temporary satisfaction. Instead…wait expectantly for God to deliver something of divine proportions that might be totally unexpected…but exactly what will satisfy your soul’s desire for inner peace and joy. “I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
