Matthew 18:21-22

Then Peter approaching asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times.”

Peter no doubt thought he was being generous in his offer to forgive “as many as seven times.”

However, Jesus said that there is no limit on how many times we are expected to forgive.

Does God not do the same for us? 

How many times have we “missed the mark” in our attempt to follow Jesus?

How many times have we screwed-up, hurt someone and basically chose to be selfish and self-centered?

Yet God always forgives us! 

Is there one person who has hurt you that you have never forgiven?

That is the person whom you are expected to forgive.

You don’t have to like that person or even hang around that person if that person is doing you harm. But you do need to forgive.

Ask God for the grace to do it.

Speak from your heart and say, “I forgive you.”

Do it…and break the chains that are binding you.

You will feel God’s loving Grace flowing freely through you again!
