Luke 1:38
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.”
Mary is an amazing example of being totally open to God’s plan for her. She is able to set aside her plans and the distractions of the world so that she can hear God’s plan. She empties herself so that God can fill her…and tell her who she is. May it be done to me according to your word!

Isaiah 40:11
Like a shepherd he feeds his flock; in his arms he gathers the lambs, carrying them in his bosom, and leading the ewes with care.
The prophet Isaiah described the coming Messiah hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus. However, this long-awaited king would be like a loving shepherd…not some war-like military ruler. Jesus compared Himself to a shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine sheep in the hills to search for the one who has strayed away. “And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray” (Matthew 18:13). This is the God who shepherds us!

Matthew 9:28-30
When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.”
Jesus wants to bring healing to everyone in ways that will bring “wholeness” to each person. It’s all about redemption…not punishment! God has an unending supply of grace to pour out on each of us. The goal for each of us is transformation! Jesus wants no attention from the healing of the two blind men. The focus is not on His healing ability…but on the personal inner-transformation of the two men. Where in your life do you need Christ’s healing touch? That is precisely the place where He wants to embrace you…and transform you!

Matthew 7:24-25
“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.”
What is the foundation on which you build your life? If it’s material possessions, prestige, position, reputation or anything else man-made…there will come a time when it will all crumble and come tumbling down. Troubles, struggles and difficulties are part of life. But when Christ is your foundation…when you listen to His words…ponder them…and allow Him to speak to your heart…you will have an inner strength and peace amidst all of life’s storms.

Psalm 23:3-4
You guide me along the right path for the sake of your name. Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side.
Sooner or later you will realize that you can’t save yourself. No one can make it on his or her own without help…someone to lift you when you fall. God made us this way so that when we fall…God can lift us…not punish us! Jesus showed us that God will not abandon us…and will do everything to save us. Afterall…the very name “Jesus” means, “Yahweh saves“! Allow Christ to lead you!

Matthew 4:21-22
Jesus walked along from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him.
How amazing it is that two brothers would drop their way of life…say goodbye to their father…and immediately follow Jesus. They left their plans behind. The same choice confronts us today. Do we follow our own plans to build our own kingdoms…or do we follow Christ…in building God’s kingdom? When you decide to follow Jesus…you will embark on a great adventure in which God will give you your heart’s desire.

Matthew 8:8
The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed.”
A Roman military officer with much power came to Jesus to ask that he heal his servant…who was paralyzed. The centurion didn’t have to do anything to help his servant…but he apparently was a man of compassion. He was also humble…knowing he needed to turn to a higher power. He also had faith that a mere word from Jesus would be sufficient to heal his servant. How would you like the Living Christ to heal you? Trust that the Lord will lead you to wholeness.

Psalm 100:4-5
Give thanks to God, bless his name; good indeed is the Lord, whose love endures forever, whose faithfulness lasts through every age.
The God who is, who was and who will be…loved you into existence…and nothing you do can change that Love.
