Luke 1:45
“Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.”
Mary was perfect model of saying “yes” to God’s plans and “no” to her own plans. She put her trust in the Lord…no matter how crazy it may have seemed. What plan does the Lord have for you? What is the one thing that has been placed in your heart to carry out with your life? Perhaps you can’t “hear” God’s silent voice in your heart…because you aren’t taking time to sit in silence…and listen.

Have a blessed day!

I am desperately seeking the plan God has for me. I have fallen into such a deep depression I can’t hear anything. What can I do ?
What comes to mind first of all is the prayer by Thomas Merton which has become known as “The Merton Prayer”. Search for this on the internet and it will be helpful. Merton expresses your emotions in this prayer. I feel for you as I have felt your same feelings expressed here. The thing about God’s plan is that you somewhat “fall” into it…the more you “die to yourself.” “Doing” is really not what it’s about. It’s about “being.” Spending more time in silent centering prayer…basically the practice of “dying to yourself” is something I recommend. While to the “doing” mind (ego) it seems like a “waste of time” it is in fact bringing you into the presence of God…a place where you can “be” in the will of God. I think all God really wants is to “be” with you…and paradoxically the more we are just “being” with God…the more we will come to know our “true selves” and what we are called to be. You are a beloved child of God! That’s the bottom line. All other titles or possessions will fall away. Be present to that knowledge…allow it to sink in…and see what happens. I would recommend that you find a spiritual director…and if you truly are suffering from depression…that you seek professional help. I hope this answer is helpful.
Thank you for answering me. I appreciate your time and words of advice.
You are welcome.
