Luke 10:40-42
Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.” The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”

While Martha was running around trying to make sure everyone who had come to hear Jesus speak was fed…her sister Mary was calmly sitting by Jesus listening to him. Serving others is definitely what we are called to do…but without listening to the Lord…we will be lost as to our true purpose. Are you taking time each day to sit at the Lord’s feet…and listen to Him? Why not reflect on scripture…perhaps this reading…and then sit in silence…and just listen.
