Perfect Love

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.

God has no intention to punish you because God is love. Human existence is not a “reward-punishment” scenario at all but an opportunity for each of us to know and experience God’s unconditional love. God’s justice is not retributive but restorative. God intends for each of us to experience an unconditional love that will transform and redeem us. When we fear…we know we are off base. God’s only desire is to love you. God’s perfect love was personified in Jesus Who loved and forgave from the cross. That same forgiveness is for you. It is not something that is earned. Simply accept it into your heart.

Read below . . . Maybe ours is not a perfect love but … we CAN make it one. Better to answer God that we made what we had better . . . then to say we failed, ignored it and let  it wither or that we say we cherished His gift and therefore nurtured it and each other! Something to think on and plan or not plan about! P.S. Matthew Kelly’s new book is called The Narrow Path. Brig
