Let Go and Live

Hebrews 13:5
Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.”

Are you striving to make more money and gain more material things…or are you striving to love more…and better. The ups and downs of the economy and death itself are good reminders that the stuff of this world will not last. And yet…something inside of us says, “There must be more than this!” A friend once told me that “doing the next loving thing” is what really matters. Jesus showed us the way to live…and as Hebrews 13:8 states: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Follow the One who will set you free…now and for eternity.

  1. I am striving to make more money to get out of the misery of death, this intimates that I am despotic and evil. I feel that is unfair.

Hi Michael, thanks for the response. Did you mean the misery of “debt” or “death”? Either way, money in and of itself is not evil but a necessary element to function in our society. However, it’s our attachment to money…or anything else…that turns our attentions from God. As long as the money is not an attachment…or obsession…and as long as it doesn’t block your ability to love God and your neighbor as yourself…then it’s not evil. Many people use money for wonderful, Godly purposes. No offense was intended to those who are struggling with debt.
