Lord, you are good and forgiving, most merciful to all who call on you.
If God is love as scripture tells us (1 John 4:8), then God is also good.
And if God loves unconditionally, which is what Love would do, then God is certainly forgiving.
Jesus said to forgive always (Matthew 18:21-22).
He also said that you must forgive others or God won’t forgive you (Matthew 6:15).
That’s because you are, in a sense, me and I am you.
Jesus put it this way: “You will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you” (John 14:20).
He also said, “I am the vine, you are the branches” (John 15:5).
We are intrinsically linked together.
Or as St. Paul said, in God “we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).
There is a Oneness of all.
So, of course, God is good, forgiving, and most merciful.
When you find your mind telling you otherwise, know that those words are lies.
Our binary minds have a hard time fathoming such non-binary concepts as unconditional love.
Let go of your divisive thoughts.
Kindly dismiss them.
Set aside time for silent meditation or Centering Prayer.

As Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is among you” (Luke 17:21), also translated as, “The kingdom of God is within you.”
