John 14:2-4

Jesus told his followers, “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way.”

Just before today’s scripture verses, Jesus told his followers that despite the apparent darkness of the situation, their hearts should not be troubled.

They were unable to see the big picture.

They were looking through their limited human lens.

Jesus said he would bring all of them safely to himself and that they know the way.

He then says the famous line, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”

His followers didn’t get it.

Many Christians still don’t get it if you ask me.

They make Jesus the exclusive holder of the key to heaven.

That would mean that the great majority of people from all time are left out.

That can’t be what he means.

In my opinion, it’s the way of Jesus that will bring you to safe harbor.

It’s his I am-ness that we must take part in much more than any beliefs.

Jesus modeled for his followers a person who was totally in-tune with the Great I Am.

Jesus showed them how to die-to-themselves as in how to let-go of their ego-driven selves; to become one with the Flow of the Creative Love of the Universe.

Jesus became this Loving Presence.

This is the Way that leads to peace and freedom from the shackles of oppressive institutions and human constructs.

Love is the Way my friends. It starts right now, right here, with you and me.
