You Can’t Take It with You

What is the top priority in how you live your life?

Luke 21:5-6

While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings, he said, “All that you see here—the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”

What are you living for?

Are you living for material things?

Are you living for prestige or power?

Even devout religious people can be living for the accolades or prestige of being highly regarded and seemingly holy.

All those things will disintegrate in time.

Jesus said that loving God with all your heart, mind and soul as well as loving your neighbor as yourself were the most important commandments (Matthew 22:36-40).

If you are a Christian…then these commandments should be our top priorities in life.

Each of us is loved by God unconditionally just the way we are…so that we in turn can be this love in the world.

When the time comes to leave our human bodies…the only thing that will matter is how well we loved.
