This message from St. Paul is especially tough in this era of extremely nasty politics.

But if you identify as a Christian, then this is your call.

You are also called to stand up for the stranger, the poor, and the oppressed but always without stooping to mean-spiritedness or violence.

So by all means stand up to oppression and wrongdoing!

But be a light of hope in the process.
