Psalm 42:2

As the deer longs for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God.

What are you longing for?

What is it that you are searching for?

It’s easy for us to think that there is something out there that will satisfy this longing.

There is an old story about a man who was crawling around outside his home looking for a key that he had lost.

Others saw him and joined him in the search.

After much time searching and not finding the key, someone asked the man if he had a more precise location of where he had dropped it.

The man then told them that he had dropped the key in his basement, but since there was more light outside, he thought he would look there.

The key in the story stands for the key to life, the thing you think will fulfill you or make you happy.

We think we will find it somewhere out there, when in fact, the answer is not outside you but within you.

You don’t have to go anywhere to find it.

Your soul is longing to connect with its Source, with God.

Jesus said that you will not find the kingdom of God outside you but within you.

The reason is that God, the Divine Presence, the great I Am, is inside you – and all around you.

God is in whom we live and move and having our being, as St. Paul put it in Acts 17:28.

You as an eternally loved child of God already have everything you need.

Nothing outside of your soul, or your consciousness, will complete you.

You are already complete and unconditionally loved at your soul level.

Stop for a moment and observe the next thought that comes to you.

Who is observing that thought?

The real you, that’s who!

Simply be present to the Presence.

You are part of the “I Am”, the beingness of God.

Rest in this Presence and experience the vast abundance of life eternal.
